The 4W Teen Workshop was truly one for the books: a vibrant afternoon designed especially for our incredible teens. It was a day filled with creativity, color, laughter, and learning, centered around punch-needling and tote bag painting sessions. The day began with light music and cheerful chatter as our teens arrived and settled in. To warm things up, we kicked off with fun icebreaker games like Emoji Emotion, where everyone expressed how they were feeling through drawings of emojis. The creativity was unmatched, and the best emoji artist went home with a gift bag!
Once the vibe was just right, we moved into the punch-needling workshop guided by our partners from Scratch Studios. It was incredible to see how quickly the teens picked up the technique. In no time, they were crafting stunning designs from flowers to butterflies and everything in between.
After completing their masterpieces, we took a well-deserved lunch break, complete with mocktails to keep everyone cool and refreshed, especially since it was our first outdoor event!
Next came one of the most heartwarming parts of the day: a conversation circle on confidence led by our guest speaker Khadija Mohammad Sani, who shared her personal journey of building confidence and encouraged the teens to embrace their individuality. The discussion was open, reflective, and deeply empowering. Each teen received a worksheet to capture what they learned and how they plan to build confidence in their daily lives.
After a few fun TikToks and photo booth moments, we shifted back into creativity mode for the tote bag painting session. With desserts and popsicles in hand, the teens painted their bags in their favorite colors, each one unique and full of personality.
We closed out the workshop by celebrating everyone’s creativity with certificates of completion (our teens are now officially punch-needling masters!) and goodie bags for all.
It was a wholesome day of art, laughter, and growth, a reminder that confidence, creativity, and community truly bloom when young people are given the space to express themselves freely.
